Where is my snow?

img_2131Were is my snow? I was promised snow and told that this would be a harsh winter, but this is looking more like Castro D’Aire with out the fireplace.

Now that I got that off my chest I can say that I still find it extremely beautiful when the sky is blue. Until now I haven’t felt the winter blues. I keep my eyes on the Spring countdown below.

If you are thinking of visiting Copenhagen in the Winter I advise you to bring a good Winter coat or a 3-in-1 coat and several layers of clothes, a warm beanie, gloves and proper boots.  Public spaces like malls, coffee houses, museums and other indoors places are heated in a manner that you will feel the need to take your coat off.

You won’t need a car to see the city. There’s a very good public transport system and it is easy to walk or use a bicycle because its flat and dedicated bicycle lanes are in place (when you cross a road look out for speeding cyclists). Remember no to peddle on the side walks (some tourists forget this and its dangerous for pedestrians and for whoever is silly enough to try).

You can find bicycle rental in several spots:

If you prefer you can also use the Hop on Hop off bus and boat tour.

Google Maps is your friend! Use it to guide you. There are several places with free wi-fi and you can buy a SIM in the airport or 7-Eleven and top it up as you need it. The best way to go to and from the airport is by using the subway train. As in other cities Copenhagen has an integrated ticket system. There’s also a City card that gives you access to transportation and several museums for free.
