Yesterday we went to the Gløgg contest in Torvehallerne, but could get near any of the pots to taste it, so when decide to go inside to Laura’s Bakery to get a cappuccino and a piece of cake and warm a little bit while we waited for the gløgg stalls to be less crowded. No luck, no one moved an inch and people stood in front of their favorite stands holding their free sample glasses. Then we decided to look for somewhere else were we could taste this Danish mulled wine and started walking towards Amargertorv.
We strolled through the Indre streets exhibiting its Christmas decorations, entering a few shops. Some times just to get warmer others looking for winter clothes or cold cream. I wonder what people do to protect their skin from the ice cold wind in the winter. This isn’t my first living abroad. And I had this fantastic plan to buy cold cream from Lidl and use pajamas as underpants. The pajamas part is working fine but I can’t find the cream I like.
We found a Christmas Market in Amagertorv and stopped at a grilled sausages cabin. I was fascinated by the mustard and Ketchup dispensers. I looked around to see if other people were using it. When used this we had to squeeze something that looked like a milk baby bottle, but in a cow version. There was a hole row of these above the counter. The best was the suspended circular grill.
We heard a loud barking on the other side of the huts. When I looked it came from a grumpy German Shepard wearing an harness with “Hot Dog” written on it. I laughed my head of.
But this wasn’t the only in funny thing we found on our walk.
I saw someone dressed in a gorilla suite begging. I have never seen that before.
There is something for everybody when you visit the Christmas Markets.
