Banoffee Porridge

This is my first post on this blog. I’m not a compleat newbie as a blogger because I had another blog Diabetic Now What or in Portuguese Diabetica e Agora? . As the name says it was about diabetes, mainly healthy recipes. It helped me a lot to deal with my condition, but in the end it’s starting to restrain me. This is the reason why I decided to start fresh with another, more inclusive name.

banofeeporridge
Banoffee Porridge sprinkled with pistachio and pumpkin seeds. R.I.P. It was so tasty!

My day always starts with my phone alarm waking me up to take my first 2 insulin shots. For those who are not familiar with diabetes, insulin treated diabetics have to take slow acting insulin (basal insulin) and fast acting insulin (bolus). The first one keeps our blood sugar stable during the day and the fast acting insulin is used to help our body absorb the carbs when we eat (bolus).  Eating breakfast is the 4th thing I do in the morning. In winter there’s nothing more satisfying than a warm bowl of porridge.
